Sequiam Corporation, an industry leader in biorecognition technology, has just made your house key obsolete. How? The reasonably priced and discreetly designed BioLock deadbolt unlocks with a swipe of your finger. You can program up to 50 different “allowable” fingerprints per lock (no computer required), it installs like a dream (running conveniently on 4 AA batteries), and at $249.00 from the Sequiam website (we’ve been assured they will be available locally by mid-2007) it definitely won’t break your home improvement budget.
The BioLock looks almost exactly like a standard deadbolt, and indeed does have an alternative standard key-lock mechanism. It even installs like a standard deadbolt on most exterior and/or interior doors. The main difference is the small fingerprint “swipe sensor” located at the bottom of the lock which maps and either accepts or rejects the fingerprint based on the list of acceptables you program into it.
Main perk? You never have to worry about whether or not you have your door key with you again. No more fumbling in your purse or your briefcase or your pockets for the key ring. No more squinting in the dark to find the right key. No more looking back over your shoulder nervously while you drop the keys and retry the whole process. Just swipe your finger along the bottom of the lock and the deadbolt mechanism opens for you. Simple. Easy. Quick. No stress.
Mission accomplished.
