In high school, I was always one of those people who said I was leaving Las Cruces as soon as I got the chance. But, as Tony Pennock, our featured muralist said, “Las Cruces is easy to leave, but it’s hard to stay away from.”
At one point I did leave, but like many people, I came back. One thing that makes me want to stay is the culture surrounding us. And, what better way to see the culture than through the homes? I love the homes of Las Cruces. I love the style, the magnificence and even the coziness. Great builders like Wayne and Kiki Suggs capture the natural surroundings within their homes, while craftsmen like Craig Alberson add unique details that are beautiful and inspiring . . . each keeps me wanting more.
Along with a love for homes, community has always been close to my heart. For that reason, I’m excited to tell you about the new opportunity I have to become editor of our sister publication, Living in Las Cruces magazine, while I still keep my post at Ventanas. What better way to explore the culture of the community than to seek out what makes our community what it is and highlight it in a magazine while still exploring what makes a great home great?
See you in the community!
